I finally got my husband to help me scan my angel WIP, and it turned out incredibly grainy. wtf? So we tried it again at a higher resolution. Let me tell you, our scanner wasn't made to handle that much resolution.... it sucked. But whatever, I scrapped the idea of doing some digital painting fun and figured that reducing the file size for the web would make the grainy-ness not so noticable. We saved the scan as a /png - what we thought was a good format.

Yeah, thought.

The png saved itself solid gray. Yes, SOLID GRAY. With a few grainy white lines. Yes, white. Not gray, not black, not pencil colored. WTF?!!! And of course, since it saved the scan directly to this png, even though it showed up fine in the image editing program we had no idea it was going to bokk up so horribly.
